Summary by Kru Chris Greig
Source: Muay Thai by Panya Kraitus and Dr.Pitisuk Kraitus

Methods Used:

Massage: Stimulates the circulation of the blood, bringing it to the skin and encouraging perspiration, one of the ways waste is removed from the body. Massage also causes fat deposits to dissolve.

Sweating: Jogging, skipping, shadow boxing to promote sweating. Be sure to wear a shirt.

Fluid Intake: Do not drink heavily while training, or after your training has just finished. No carbonated beverages. All unnecessary fluid intake should be cut down.

Food Intake: Systematizing food intake, should be planned in terms of proper content at proper time. Starches and fats should be avoided, If you feel weak, you should consume meats, milk, fresh fruits, and vegetables.

Dehydration: Usually 24 hours before a match. Can increase speed and endurance. If you feel thirsty, rinse mouth with water without swallowing. Weight loss through reduced fluid intake should used as a last resort, and used only if immediate weight loss is absolutely necessary.

Final Note
Always keeps a look out on how the body feels, and functions. Weight loss should be no more than 1-3 pounds/week. Talk to Kru Chris for additional information regarding weight reduction.
