Well I am here in Bangkok! Fortunately, the flight here wasn't as bad as the last time I went. Probably because I was prepared this time around. Movies, shows, books, and homework kept me busy! I slept ok as well, not as good as I would like but enough so that I wasn't so jetlegged! Pulling an all-nighter the night before my flight was definitely a good idea.
I arrived at Bangkok around 11:00pm only to be picked up by Rob Cox, journalist/owner of Kiatphontip Gym (obviously where I am training.) Rob is of English decent but lives in Thailand with his Thai wife. He is very well known in the Muay Thai Circuit. Check the vid below:
It was about a 45minute ride from the BKK airport to the gym. Seemed a lot shorter since I was very much enjoying my conversation with Rob. We talked about his fighters, thai champs, k1, his job, and a bunch of other interesting fighting related topics. We arrived at the gym around 1:00am, and I called it a night.
Before I knew it, it was the next morning! I didn't get to sleep until 2:30ish am and even then I kept dozing in and out! I forced myself out of bed at 6:30am and prepared for my run at 7:00am. I was joined by a kid name Kai, he was 16 but looked a lot younger. We started our run down the suburban streets just outside the gym. We were joined by the rest of the Kiatphontip Team (3 farlangs, a few thai kids, and another older fighter) a while later. The run, which was just a warmup, lasted an hour and was approximetly 10km long. Once back to the gym the thai training began.
10min shadoboxing
20min bag work
6min boxing work on pads
200 knees
100 pushkicks
50 situps
40 chinups
That concludes tuesday morning training. I felt a little woozy since I am still a little jetlegged! But tah well. The afternoon sessions I hear are tougher!
Well that's all for now, gonna get me some food and settle in more. I'll have pictures up when I can!
